Consider:

Total compensation for top earning teachers in Ontario is MORE THAN $120,000 per year when accounting for the value of taxpayer funded contributions to pensions and benefits.

There's more than 10,000 Ontario teachers on the sunshine list (earning a salary of over $100,000 per year). Under the government's current offer, they'll get a raise of over $3,000 in 3 years. Their union thinks anything less than a $6,000 in that time is "unfair."

While more than 1/3 of Canadians have no retirement savings, Ontario teachers retire on average at age 59 and top earning teachers will receive an annual pension of nearly $62,000 per year.

While 48% of Canadians are $200 or less away from financial insolvency, teachers' union bosses are "offended" that the government offered a 3% raise over 3 years. That's a raise of $2,580 for the average Ontario teacher. #onpoli

For every 1% raise the government gives to its employees, it costs taxpayers $720 million dollars.

While our teachers are some of the best paid on the planet, our province is the largest sub-national debtor on the planet.

We have no money. These raises will be debt funded.

I respect teachers and value public education immensely, but teachers are already paid well and the province is broke.
