In the context of the political crisis in Colombia, Bolivia, Chile, and Ecuador, governments are using digital technologies to repress and persecute protestors. EFF has signed onto a public statement condemning these undemocratic actions derechosdigitales.org/14039/

Repressing, criminalizing, and pursuing demonstrators undermines freedom of expression and the right to protest, and goes against both the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the American Convention on Human Rights
