1. Shortly after one of their stars died from epilepsy, @DisneyStudios has let the epilepsy community know they don’t give a rat’s ass about us. They are warning those with epilepsy triggered by strobes that the next Star Wars movie could kill us. They don’t want our business....
...so I urge all in the epilepsy community - 3.4 million patients, 10
million family members - to honor Disney by saying “enough!” This is the same studio that had Incredibles 2 filmed in a way making it impossible for many with epilepsy to see it. And many with migraines too...
...there are children out there - many many children - who already struggle with having epilepsy who now may be told “no, Johnny. You can’t see your favorite movie. You can’t go to Billy’s birthday party. You have to stay home and cry because @DisneyStudios cared more about....
....a cheap special effect that can be done by anyone shopping at a party store, one that has not been used in any previous Star Wars movie, they care more about that than you. What’s next @DisneyStudios? Diabetics forced to eat candy to get “the full effect” of your movies?....
...how about sprinkling peanut dust on the seats so those with peanut allegergies can’t come? Fine, you say “screw you, a strobing scene is more important than you.” I hope the entire epilepsy community - all 12 million of us, let you know how we feel about that....
...and refuse to give you our money. So you understand that, for a stupid effect, you created a film that your own star - Cameron Boyce - might not have been able to see? You put out a statement when he died of epilepsy, perhaps you could truly honor him by stopping...
....making movies you KNOW can cause seizures and, just like Cameron, potentially kill people. Maybe be like @Marvel which, when they realized a 5 second part of their last Spider-Man movie could harm folks with epilepsy, they didn’t announce “don’t come.” They CUT the scene....
....did anyone know the 5 seconds were gone? Well, the epilepsy community did, which is why we love @marvel. But we are sick of you saying - particularly with kids’ favoritr movies - “don’t come. We might kill you. But DAMN we like strobes.” Again, enough! Our community...
...MUST make our voices heard. When @DisneyStudios says “give us your money, please #Epilepsy community, respond - “Your own @marvel studio showed you how to help the epilepsy community. Why can’t the parent do it? But yes, if you don’t want out money, we are happy to oblige...
...and we do it in honor of off the children who have to stay home crying, all the adult Star Wars fans who have to stay home, as well as in honor of your own star, Cameron Boyce, whose death shows what we face as a risk every day.”...
....start to care @DisneyStudios. At least for now, I will give no more $ to you except through your subsidiary, @Marvel, which gave you a lesson you ignore about how easy it is to invite us to the theater, rather than just announcing “stay away! @DisneyStudios might kill you.”
