I don’t like to criticize Dem party leadership because I want to believe that we’re all in this together, but I’m going to make an exception here: I want to talk about how dangerous and un-democratic the DCCC’s ban on supporting Dem challengers in safe Democratic districts is.

How does this work? For starters, the DCCC is banning vendors who work with insurgents from working for Dems they fund. Party elites determine their candidates without letting the people decide and try to box out challengers by making it difficult for them to staff.
A consequence of that is that they end up supporting people like my opponent Stephen Lynch, who entered politics as an anti-choice candidate who said he was motivated by his anger that gay people were allowed to march in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. (No, really. And he’s a DEM.) 
This also means some of the best campaign talent coming out of the 2016/18 elections are banned from most campaigns. This is short-sighted & stupid. Imagine looking at @AOC’s groundbreaking campaign & thinking, no, we don’t need any of THAT talent. That’s what the DCCC is doing.
Establishment Dems should not be allowed to choose candidates behind closed doors. It’s not about incumbent protection, which is unnecessary in safely Democratic districts like mine. It’s about control, and party elites thinking they know better than voters.
So I obviously am not DCCC funded. And my vendors are banned from most campaigns because they’re working with people like me. And leadership is not gonna like this thread. But my campaign is powered by people, not corporate PACs and insider money.
