1) @UKLabour - what happened?
Fundamentally 4 blindingly big errors were made by Labour, and at least 3 of them were obvious years ago

Firstly, Labour could only ever, strategically, be a Remain party - they could never out #Brexit the Tories - but they never found a route
@UKLabour 2) whatever the northern seat position was, you cannot win as Labour with Brexit lite, just as Labour couldn't win 10 years ago with austerity lite

The Brexit camp was full, strategically the only route for Labour was full throated Remain - they never got there
@UKLabour 3) if Labour had found the way to full Remain they could have joined the voices saying all #Brexit versions were bad, there were no good Brexits. They could have spent 3 years saying Brexit was a right wing project

But they couldn't,because they pretended *their* Brexit was good
@UKLabour 4) So not only was Labour unable to find a Brexit role for itself, it could not contribute to moving the window on Brexit itself in public opinion

As far as Labour was concerned, a good Brexit could be achieved, it wasn't universally harmful
@UKLabour 5) this is a point often missed. It's the job of opposition to move public opinion, not follow it. It was on Labour to tell people "you are being conned. This entire project is a distraction"

They didn't. They contributed nothing to the anti Brexit debate
@UKLabour 6) the second mistake is having a leader so out of step with his party's clear position on *the* major policy

Everyone in @UKLabour knew Corbyn was a Brexiter. Everyone tried to hide it, or ignore it, or work around it. It was just ludicrous
@UKLabour 7) how can a party be successful when the public knows the leadership is opposed to the party. So much energy was wasted in dealing with this, such as the "honest, neutral Brexit broker" ridiculous stance

The public saw this for what it was - "I want Brexit but I can't say I do"
@UKLabour 8) Thirdly - the public does not like "high spend" manifestos - it just doesn't. It doesn't trust giveaways that it thinks can't be funded. It believes the "live within our means" mantra

2017 was cautious, 2019 was reckless and indulgent
@UKLabour 9) but most obviously and finally - how could anyone in their right mind think Corbyn was electable? Lowest ratings for any party leader, a back catalog of dubious connections, the anti semitism issues

And an utter lack of talent & presence
@UKLabour 10) he was less popular than Theresa May and don't know, and @UKLabour put him up against Johnson

As a reminder Corbyn lost
-The referendum
-Local authority elections
-2017 GE
-Euros

And @UKLabour put him forward ... again!

Utterly self indulgent & foolish
@UKLabour 11) Historians will look back in awe at how Labour fielded this deeply unpopular and limited man over and over again until it destroyed the party in his final GE

How he continually demanded an election he was never going to win & how his party followed him into oblivion
@UKLabour 12) historic, epic, utterly predictable outcome. Childish self indulgent posturing and above all an utter betrayal of Labour voters

There's LDs who failed to win because people could not tolerate a Corbyn government

Voters who disliked Johnson but could not vote Corbyn
@UKLabour 14) Corbyn's only achievement is as a bogey man, giving people the excuse not to vote or hold their noses & vote Tory. He has almost single handedly resurrected a dying Tory party and put them back in power for 10 years

And @UKLabour let him do it
