Trump saying he wanted to fight corruption in Ukraine is absurd for many reasons, but today let’s focus on a story involving Paul Manafort and Ukraine’s Day of Dignity and Freedom. It illustrates perfectly the Orwellian nature of Trump’s depraved lies. 1/
In Ukraine, they celebrate the Day of Dignity and Freedom Nov. 21. On this day in 2014 the people rose up against President Viktor Yanukovych, a corrupt Putinite who was robbing the country. The uprising was triggered by Yanukovych’s reversal against integrating with the EU. 2/
Yanukovych’s police killed 106 and wounded over 2000 in the Nov. 21, '14 protests. But the protests were effective & Yankovych was forced to flee to Russia. Sadly he and his group of oligarchs had drained an estimated 40 billion from Ukraine's coffers. 3/

How is Yanukovych related to Trump? In '16 Trump hired as his campaign mgr. the king-maker who had engineered Yanukovych being elected in Ukraine! Trump hired the man who helped the Putin-backed Yanukovych get elected, and helped him embezzle $ out. This man was Paul Manafort.4/
You can’t make this stuff up. The Ukraine's people's Day of Dignity and Freedom literally celebrates the ouster of the corrupt, Pro-Putin embezzler who was advised into office by Manafort, who Donald Trump then hired. And Trump now claims to be fighting corruption in Ukraine 5/

Trump Campaign Manager Paul #Manafort arrived in Judge Ellis’ courtroom in Eastern District of Virginia in a green jumpsuit, walking with a cane. He will be sentenced in a few minutes on 8 counts of financial crimes. He also awaits sentencing in DC by Judge Amy Berman Jackson.
The guy who promised the best people and "extreme vetting"—didn't even google Paul #Manafort?? Remember that when Trump apologists say he didn't know about Manafort's years of dirty work for world tyrants. I've always felt Trump hired him BECAUSE of his work for Putin & Russians.

These new charges could potentially tie Paul Manafort's alleged crimes to the change the Trump campaign made to the GOP platform in 2016 (softening language about arming Ukraine to defend against Russia).

That was the only change to the GOP platform requested by team Trump.
A few things to keep in mind:
1. Paul Manafort was caught offering to give Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska ‘private briefings’ on the 2016 Trump campaign. Manafort was deeply in debt to Deripaska, a key Putin ally.

2. The only change to the GOP party platform made by the Trump campaign was a reversal on the GOP's plan to insert language calling for the US to provide lethal defensive weapons to Ukraine.

Paul Manafort was the campaign manager during the RNC, when this all took place.
