Mitch McConnell and other Republicans are engaging in closed door meetings with White House Counsel. The impeachment trial is a PUBLIC process and the senators are the jurors. In South Dakota they put people who violate open meetings laws in the slammer. The Feds should too.
Open meetings are an essential part of democracy. When a state employee alleges discrimination and retaliation, the hearing usually must be open if the complainant demands it. When a president is impeached, the charges brought by the House also must be heard in the open.
