One of the justifications for targeting me - including by Tommy Robinson supporters - is that I'm an apologist for left-wing antisemitism.

This is a malicious lie: I've consistently challenged it, and been accused of being used by "the Israel lobby" for doing so.

One of the main attack lines centres on an edit I made to Wikipedia in 2003 - when I was 19 - which I explained here. (I was studying 19th century German antisemitism, which racialised Jews for the first time, and didn't understand the word "ethnicity" properly).

I'm never going to think Jeremy Corbyn is an antisemite, or waver in my belief that the vast majority of Labour members abhor antisemitism.

I have tried to confront antisemitism where it exists, and to challenge those in denial over it, and been vilified for it.

It feels self-indulgent to go through this, but necessary, because far right types on both sides of the Atlantic are using claims that the left is all antisemitic to justify targeting its members (I've had this from Tommy Robinson supporters online and on the streets).

Antisemitism is a menace and must be defeated - and it is perverse for a racist right which is a threat to ALL minorities to claim any leadership on the issue.
