This is the Wendelstein. It’s 1838m high, and is an hour away from Munich by public transport. I climbed it today (Boxing Day), and as I did so, I had some thoughts about British politics (THREAD)

Now, I’m aware that many UK citizens don’t care about my rights, and are about to celebrate them being taken away from me. But here’s the thing….
Governments that start taking away rights get the taste for it. It won’t stop - they’ll be after your right to health care that's free that point of use; your right to holiday and sick pay, and to not work excessive hours…
They’ll be after your right not to eat rat droppings and insect fragments with your food; and your right to live in a society where there are health and safety standards that protect you and your family…
And where your human rights are respected and protected. So, if you feel like celebrating the removal of my rights on 31st January, remember they’ll be coming for yours too, and pretty soon… because there’s nothing to stop them. But hey! Big Ben! 50p Coins!!
PS, I’m lucky enough to have an Irish grandmother, so I now have an Irish passport and will stay European. Many other British people are not so lucky. I believe passionately in preserving a peaceful, prosperous Europe that cares for and protects its citizens.
