I don't want to be mean but I just found a PERFECT example of a website taking every opportunity to bombard its visitors. I have to talk about it.

I'm sorry @devchattv :(
Once you clear the first two popups out of the way, _another_ one is thrown up, immediately afterwards.

Their content might be great, but the presentation is so over-the-top markety that I don't trust it at all.
Once you get past that, you notice this thing at the top of the page. Check out this dark pattern. "No, I like being out of date"??
It has this enter animation. It's SO attention-grabbing and disruptive. It still does this even with "prefers-reduced-motion" set, which is not great for folks with vestibular disorders.
I don't want to shame the devs, or anyone on these podcasts. It's possible that this was a frog-in-boiling-water situation, where they don't realize the cumulative effect of all this at once. It seems like this is a monetization-at-all-costs strategy, but I shouldn't assume.
Ultimately I want developers to stop making websites like this, and I hope threads like this encourage us all to be better. Push back on unreasonable marketing requests, as much as your position and privilege allows. And test your products as first-time users see them.
