The Breakdown podcast is right smack in the middle of a set of killer end of 2019 interviews. I asked each guest two questions:

1) What was the most important narrative of 2019?
2) What's one prediction for 2020?

The answers so far below 👇
First, @PeterMcCormack discussed the growth in global discontent (which, incidentally inspired him to launch Defiance) and predicted a continued bloodletting among non-BTC cryptoassets next year. plnk.to/nlw/e/10004605…
Next up, @Melt_Dem argued that the emergence of central bank digital currencies was the biggest big deal of 2019. When it comes to 2020, the variety of new financial products around bitcoin are poised to make this halvening extra extra. plnk.to/nlw/e/10004606…
Not everyone thought that 2019 was fireworks and explosions. For some, it was all about the slow, steady build. Both @crypto_bobby and @iam_preethi shared different versions of this sentiment (and by the way, 2020 may not be so different). plnk.to/nlw/e/10004607…
For others, the story of 2019 was the growing fires burning in the macro landscape - the larger context that makes bitcoin so relevant going into the next year - indeed, the next generation. @MartyBent made this point eloquently. plnk.to/nlw/e/10004608…
And of course, it would be basically unimaginable for a 2019 EOY series to not run into decentralized finance, one of the most discussed concepts of the year. @CamiRusso and @TrustlessState gave their takes on why it mattered and what comes next plnk.to/nlw/e/10004609…
@CamiRusso @TrustlessState Over the next couple days, I have interviews with @katherineykwu @Shaughnessy119 @jcliff42 @tayvano_ going up. Keep tuned here for more - or look for them on @coindesk
