Labour’s task is not to make itself feel better – it’s to win power | Tony Blair | Opinion

Much in this I agree with but Labour has to represent EFFECTIVE DELIVERABLE good NOT labelled with “we’ll keep the red flag flying”-a massive vote loser theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
“We put forward a leader and a manifesto that voters thought unacceptable to such a degree that many were repelled. Too extreme economically. Anti western. Lacking in patriotism. And therefore dangerous”.

Yes.

And it wasn’t a winning manifesto.
The culture of winning (and this applies to Lib Dems and Greens as well).

1st
A hard headed analysis of political realities

Progressives win from the centre..but that does NOT mean the status quo.

The financial crisis did NOT move people to the political left..but to the right
Be careful of the language used.

And be realistic otherwise you will come over as living in Lala land or a three card trickster.
The Labour manifesto did not ignite hope but fear for many..

And a political party is not a protest movement.

Political parties must do what it needs to to win.

This is true of Lib Dems and Greens too.
