This could not be more wrong. Women campaigned for 25 years to break the taboos around #breastcancer, and ensure it got the funding it needed. We should all learn from this brilliant campaign, and discuss other "embarrassing" cancers as openly.
Embarrassment kills.

One of the commonest charges against a #vegan diet is that it can’t be natural or healthy, because it requires “supplements” of vitamin B12. Here’s why this argument is nonsense.

1. Some of these so-called supplements are normal food items, as natural or unnatural as anything else we eat, such as yeast extract or yeast flakes. They are supplements in the sense that tomato ketchup is a supplement to your fish and chips.
2. Another source is fortified foods, such as fortified oat milk. Aha! Fortified! Gotcha! But how does fortified oat milk differ from the fortified breakfast cereals half the population eats? Why is extra B12 an issue, while extra niacin, riboflavin, folic acid, iron etc are not?

In trying to reduce the impact of our diets, we tend massively to over-emphasise #FoodMiles, and under-emphasise the type of food we eat. Even if you shipped bananas 6 times round the planet, their impact would be lower than local beef and lamb. ourworldindata.org/food-choice-vs…
In my experience, many people are extremely reluctant to hear this. We've been so bombarded with the notion that local = good that we miss the bigger picture, and end up with a highly simplified, misleading worldview. I hope this new dataset helps to correct that.
I've come to the conclusion that the biggest obstacle to developing a sustainable diet is bucolic romanticism. It starts at the very dawning of consciousness, as infants are exposed to thousands of books like this:

Following the total fiasco of @theCCCuk's land use report yesterday, I've been doing some thinking. Please bear with me, as this line of thought is new, for me at least, and I would appreciate your feedback.

@theCCCuk Yesterday I complained that the CCC’s targets – net zero emissions by 2050 and a 10% cut in livestock – are way out of whack with the science. But today I think the problem is not only the particular targets, but that the very notion of setting targets in an emergency is wrong
@theCCCuk When firefighters arrive at a burning building, do they set themselves a target of rescuing two of the five inhabitants? Or do they seek – aware that they might not succeed – bravely to rescue everyone they can? Their aim is to MAXIMISE the number of lives they save.

Women and the public as a whole must acknowledge that glass ceiling exists.
If ot is not acknowledged first, hardly will it be address it.
• if the awareness is there , then they should make conscious effort to break it.

Ronald Reagan signed the Mexico City Policy in 1984. This sweeping mandate against reproductive freedom around the globe denied,

“US federal funds to any organisation involved in providing abortion services overseas or counselling women about them.”
Though revoked by every Democrat and reinstated by every Republican
since, Trump has taken up the cause with renewed vigor.

Every time the global gag has been reimposed by a Republican president, rates of back street and self-administered abortions have increased.

I was raised by all women.

My father had gotten my mother pregnant when she was just 15. His father
insisted on an abortion or he'd 'write my pops out of the will'. My pops bailed.

My mother raised me--and 4 siblings--mostly alone.

Mom's water broke in biology class. she finished HS--preggo--with me, in 1975. There's pictures of me as the little cheer squad mascot for the #RioLindaKnights.

As I grew up, I remembered the power and influence and wisdom of WOMEN in my life. My Great Grandmother was the key:
Great Grandma Florence had bought 3/4 of an acre in #NorthSac (w/ her husband), when acres were $5.00 ea. They couldn't afford a full one! Great Grandpa died & I never knew him.

Grandma was our true #MATRIARCH. She had a huge garden w/veggies on one side, flowers on the other.
