1/ The best sentences I read this week were in an essay by Alex Iskold alexiskold.net/2020/01/11/why… and a tweetstorm by Andy Johns AKA @ibringtraffic.

Alex: "Contrary to what most thought, CAC (cost of acquiring a customer) didn’t go down as many D2C startups scaled." They went up.
2/ Andy Johns @ibringtraffic is a great follow if you want to understand what a "growth team" does. A must read tweetstorm from Andy starts with: "A big top of funnel doesn't mean you have product-market fit. You create your own false narrative with the big bang launch."
3/ I quote Andy Johns in one of my 25iQ posts:

"A growth team has the responsibility to measure, understand and improve the flow of users in and out of the product and business. That’s the role of growth.”

Growth is a black art that you can learn.

Asking whether 5G is "safe" is like asking whether upgrading an iPhone to iOS 13 upgrade was "safe". 5G is a new radio access technology. It is not a new radio frequency, but it can enable them. 5G is being deployed at frequencies lower than what is being used by you right now.
People giving opinions on 5G "safety" who don't understand the difference between a technology and a frequency reveal they haven't even taken the time to understand the issue. Stating that 5G has a speed of X without specifying the radio frequency and other factors is also wrong.
The exposure limits used by the FCC are expressed in terms of Specific Absorption Rate (SAR). Factors like electric and magnetic field strength, power density for transmitters operating at frequencies from 100 kHz to 100 GHz and the nature of the sources must be considered.

#TweetStorm - Expensive or deserves to be Expensive ? 1)One thumb rule for screening expensive companies is Market Cap to Sales or Enterprise Value to Sales. A 10x or more is generally expensive unless the company can grow sales rapidly or has extremely high Net Profit Margins.
2)Another way to look at expensive is if the Market Cap is equal to the Total Sales of the Addressable Market Size. This would lead to company having to launch different products in the future.
3)May not be the approach to take a Sell Decision or a Short Sell Decision. Very few companies can command such high valuations. Thumb Rule is just to review the investment thesis and the quality of the business. If doubts on quality , get out.

"How I took back charge of my social media"

From mid of 2018, I made a significant change in my approach towards social media. I started customising my social media settings with the tools made available by each platform and the smartphone I use.
As I kept experimenting with this approach, I cracked my way out of the echo chambers I created around topics that kept me fixated, unsettled, outraged or even angry. This new approach has significantly improved my work life, personal life and my life on social media itself.
The feeling that I had until about half a year ago that we are all being consumed by social media has faded away and I am glad to report that I now use social media to my advantages.
