1. NYT Endorses Underwhelma

@NYT is endorsing the nervous Nellie. Here's the giveaway: "But in this moment when democracy is being sorely tested, both radical and realist models warrant serious consideration."

So NYT wants you to choose between a radical and a realist.
@NYT 2. Now what is the most emphatic slogan progressives use these days, whenever they want you to believe in something without questioning, because they want you to know they have done all your thinking for you, and you shouldn't worry your pretty little heads?
@NYT 3. Here's the favorite progressive formulation of ultimate certitude about any dogma: "<dogma> is real."

"is real" is the phrase for asserting an authoritative thought requiring acceptance without question.

Climate change is real.
Islamophobia is real.
Transphobia is real.
@NYT 4. Hence NYT's latest assertion: "Amy Klobuchar is real." Well, this time around they start with calling out Amy Klobuchar as the only 'realist' in the race. But can "is real" be far behind?
@NYT 5. Amy will need a lot of assertions of "is real" because Amy is polling somewhere south of Andrew Yang among Democrats, so naturally will elicit a lot of "Are you fricking kidding me?" responses.
@NYT 6. But never mind. No matter what argument you come up with to deride Amy Klobuchar's candidacy (I predict she will never see double-digit support even among Democrats and will not win a single primary, not even in her own state), it is undeniable, "Amy Klobuchar is real."
@NYT 7. By the way, don't get me wrong. I like Amy Klobuchar -- as a Senator. Among Democratic senators, she is definitely among the better ones Democrats have to offer. But she has already hit the Peter Principle ["Everybody rises to his/her own level of incompetence."]
