I don’t understand why some folks run as if the internet doesn’t exist.

Joe Biden helped sell the invasion of Iraq and spent years working to cut social security, Medicare, and Medicaid. He’s open to a Republican running mate.

Spin it however you want, but those are the facts.
And before folks jump in saying I’m wrong or that it’s more complicated than that, let me give you the receipts.

In a time when ~60% of American workers make less than $40,000 a year, billionaires should not exist.
Also, billionaires don’t have a billion dollars because they “work” thousands of times harder than the teacher or the single mom.

They are billionaires because the stock market makes that money for them, which relies on profiteering off insulin, low wages, scrapped jobs, etc.
We need worker-centered policies that reign in Wall Street and value work - including a TON of unvalued and undervalued work, like caregiving.

The cost of system that concentrates a billion dollars in the hands of few powerful people is massive, devastating income inequality.

Undocumented immigrants pay more in US taxes than Amazon or Facebook do.
Don’t believe me? In 2015 undocumented immigrants paid $20 billion in income taxes - including funding Medicare, Medicaid, & Social Security:

Some of the most meaningful time I spent in Iowa was connecting w organizers in POC &immigrant communities, many of whom were being talked to for the 1st time by a campaign, &admiring their work.

They were ignored as “just a small % of Iowans.”

Turns out they made a difference.
We went to small towns, & met with farmworkers + meatpackers.

I saw first hand how up to 50% of Iowa’s agricultural workers are immigrant & Latino - many of them rural. These families are revitalizing entire towns in Iowa.

Pundits shouldn’t use “rural” as code for race, either.
Organizing immigrant communities is a whole new level of effort for pol campaigns.

It requires deeply campaigning in several languages. Traditionally it’s deemed “not worth it.”

Yet this outreach is powerful, & extends beyond an election cycle. They will show up again & again.

2/In the Winter of 1995 the Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich (R) and the @GOP demanded a ‘balanced budget’ and proposed massive cuts to ‘entitlements’ (changes to Medicare & Medicaid, etc.) and tax cuts for the wealthy. This led to a Nov 13-19, 1995 Government shut down.
3/It was Newt Gingrich who felt those ‘entitlement’ programs (you know the ones that help the most marginalized) had outlived “their usefulness”. This angered Senate Dems. They took to the floor on Nov. 16, 1995. Here's Sen. Kennedy venting his frustration over the proposed cuts.

Actually, my concern has to do with the fact that you had no problem getting bailed out by working Americans, while you've been picking on them by advocating for cutting Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
During the Wall Street crash an estimated 15 million families lost their homes.

Lloyd Blankfein didn't lose his home or his job.

His bank got an $824 billion taxpayer bailout and Blankfein became a billionaire.
Because of the greed of banks like Goldman Sachs, Americans lost $13 trillion in savings.

When Blankfein retired from Goldman Sachs, he received a $50 million retirement package.

...Trump promised to fully finance his own campaign. He didn't. In fact it was almost entirely funded by PACs, SuperPacs, corporate & elite 1% donations. Some indication of foreign contributions. Only money he spent went to compensate Cohen for paying off porn stars...
...He would build a 30 to 60 foot concrete wall & Mexico would pay for all of it. Not a single inch of new wall has been built. Further, he's scaling down to "barriers" & finally he's taking money from U.S. taxpayers already slotted to the Military, Disaster Relief & Medicaid...
