It’s worth asking why Trump & Republicans want to cut Medicare & Social Security. Why is such a small percentage of the federal budget such a focus?

Here’s why: they think a safety net makes you lazy.

These guys, most of whom were born with a personal safety net worth millions, believe health & food security will make you stay home from work.

The thing is, it could.

That is, if you’re grossly underpaid, in a demeaning or unsafe job, you may decide that it’s not worth losing your life or dignity over. You may decide to start your own company. You may decide to hold out for better pay.

That’s the fear. That’s why Trump & his Republicans hate a safety net, because it makes a tiny shift to decision-making power.

They believe the master should retain all control.

This country has not yet recovered from its addiction to slavery.

If we’re going to follow the Bible on abortion, the book of Numbers explains how priests must cause an abortion for pregnancies from affairs.

Personally I think that’s extreme, but if the woman wants to follow the Bible, that should be up to her.
In other words, the new Georgia & Ohio anti-abortion laws discriminate against Christians’ freedom of religion by not allowing them to follow the requirements of the Bible.
Ohio’s enforcement is apparently even making clear that abortion isn’t allowed even in cases of rape, which is ideally not part of marriage at all.

This is the most important midterm election of our lifetimes. Tomorrow we have the chance to reverse course, restore decency, and put a check on this destructive president.

We need your help. To knock on doors. To make calls. To get out the vote. TO VOTE.

These are the stakes:
The GOP is determined to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and gut protections for pre-existing conditions.

They want to cut Medicare and Social Security for seniors to pay for their tax cuts for millionaires and big business.

Healthcare isn't a game; it's life and death.
While people are working, many do not make enough to get by. Those lucky enough to get a good education may still be saddled with student debt.

While your parents may have retired with dignity, it will be harder for the next generation to do so.

We must fight for our future.

Did you know that our country is very close to a Constitutional Convention? Quietly our republican controlled state governments are one by one voting to call a Constitutional Convention.
Back when the country was founded we did try to have a government that was a confederation of states, it failed miserably. The Articles of Confederation were ammended in 1787 and our union was completed.
In 1861 the Southern states tried to succeed because they feared the abolitionists of the North would end slavery & they would lose their power in the consolidation of a federal government
The direct result was a bloody war that pitted Americans against Americans & lasted 5 years
