Journalists have spent the last 72 hours portraying Adam Schiff as a straight-shooting hero of the republic, so its worth revisiting his last few years:

03/17: “I can’t go into the particulars, but there is more than circumstantial evidence" of collusion

12/17: Schiff says there is "damning" evidence of collusion, but he "can't comment" on evidence that Russia told the Trump campaign how the email rollout would occur "because that is an issue we've been investigating."

This is just a small taste of the many media hits Schiff did *as Chairman of the Intel Committee* telling the American ppl that the President was a Russian asset. Schiff is a clown and any journalist who treats his statements seriously at this point should be viewed the same way.

A few thoughts on this:
-Impeachment is, above all, a political process with political consequences both on immediate events and long-term practices
-Each impeachment—supposed to be extraordinarily rare—makes the next more likely and normalizes the given justification.

So,

1/
Because impeachment is a political device that is divisive but ultimately designed to ensure the long-term political health of the republic, *how someone is impeached* and *the perceived reasons why* are as important to our political future as *what they're impeached for.*

2/
So, when a number of the opposition caucus has been on the record for impeachment before these articles emerged, replete with newly elected members of Congress saying "we'll impeach the motherf*cker" on election night, the perception that creates matters for long-term trends.

This has gone viral and has been shared by the Obama bros, among others, but it's not a real quote from the NYT article. It combines various sentences and presents them as a single quote. Regardless of your opinion on the strike, context matters. Here's an accurate version: 1/
(And, FWIW, based on the the NYT authors' track record on the topic, it's fair to view their presentation of the issue with a little skepticism) 2/

The "quote" above conflates two different decisions. According to the article, after Iran's militias killed an American, the Pentagon presented Trump with several options. Soleimani was the most extreme. *At that point,* Trump chose the middle option—hitting the militias. 3/

This NYT piece about the Soleimani operation manages to slip in a number of biases and editorials under the guise of straight news reporting.

"Bush’s administration made a conscious decision not to kill General Suleimani when he was in the cross hairs, and Mr. Obama’s administration evidently never made an effort to pursue him."

Obama didn't "evidently not pursue" Soleimani—he actively kept Israel from killing him

Trump was angry about Iran killing an American and "demonstrators" attacking the embassy, "neither of which would normally result in such a seemingly disproportionate retaliation."

1. They weren't demonstrators
2. NYT just declares the response to be disproportionate

I do declare I like the format of the competition, after much @EFL time and debate with clubs has been expended, to fix some obvious issues.

It came along with...

The idea of WGS was to allow B teams into our entire @EFL set up.

@CheckatradeTrpy got through after much pressure and threats from the board. It is a fact that the chairman..
