I have heard a number of late stage private companies are trying to raise unpriced rounds that convert at a discount to subsequent liquidity event. Had not heard that DoorDash was one of them. Changes the calculus of food delivery consolidation if they need cash and can’t get it.
DoorDash is one of the few SoftBank backed companies that hasn’t been reported to have done meaningful layoffs. Will be interesting to watch.
