Smart Contract #Hackathon @devpost has come to an end. What actually happened during November 1st - December 16th? What did the judges think about the submissions? I have many questions and so did many community members.

1. What is your background prior to blockchain/crypto?

Well, I had begun exploring the blockchain/crypto world in April 2018, when we had a customer necessity for an ICO. I then started learning about Bitcoin and blockchain. As I have been...
mostly working with Microsoft stack, it was easy to build a smart contract with C#, thus we had picked the NEO blockchain to develop our solution. I made an ICO contract on the NEO testnet, which was never published to the mainnet because of the crypto regulation in the country..
where I live. After that, I learned Ethereum for an alternate necessity and from that point forward stayed with it.

2. What are you doing now with blockchain?

As a full-time web developer job, I mostly work with web and API development. Eventually fixing issues and write...
some code on Ethereum private network. Additionally, upgrading my knowledge on blockchain and looking for some great opportunity.

3.What were your initial expectation of the hackathon? Did you think the requirement and judging criteria were clear?

Most of the requirement was...
clear. However, few things were not defined, such as do we need to publish our solution on the test network, but things got cleared while discussing these things with the team and community members on Discord.

4. In your opinion, were the available tools and documentations ...
sufficient for you? If not, what was missing?

Truly, a separate wallet of hackathon along with a step-by-step documentation was helped me to understand the overall process. I had deployed my first smart contract in one go.

5. Do you have any prior experience developing on ...
other blockchain? If so, please share what you like and dislike about developing on Stratis platform.

Yes, I do have a little involvement in NEO and Ethereum blockchain. What I like about the Stratis platform is, it’s easy to learn for everyone. Once you deployed a smart ...
contract, the wallet provides you APIs, which makes the entire procedure simpler. There were scarcely any issues discovered in the hackathon wallet, however, it doesn’t affect much as there are alternate approaches to getting things done.

6. During the hackathon, please tell...
us:
a. Did you have any strategy or a game plan before starting?

From my experience with blockchain, I knew, things wouldn’t work smoothly as we decide. Hence, I had planned before starting by finalizing different ideas and how can we implement an application on it. First few...
ideas not worked, but I learned from it and it helped me in the final solution.

b. Where did you struggle the most? How were you able to overcome the struggle?

Initially, I thought a developing smart contract would be the difficult one. However, I struggle the most with the...
web application, there were several modules and limited time, the app should work without failure. I spent a lot of my time there.

c. What resources did you find the most helpful?

The Stratis academy documentation, sample contracts, and Discord channel all were helped me to...
finish my project.

7. “About 200 participants and only 13 projects? It’s strange.” Do you have any comment about this statement?

I think it isn't. Developing such an application is hard. People join the hackathon, begin working on their solutions, but they couldn’t finish it...
because of various reasons.

8. What’s next for you?

I will take a shot at the enhancements of the smart contract and the web application, so we can cover major functionalities....
Additionally, on the off chance that anybody wants to contribute to the project, I'd be glad.
