What Dershowitz pushed was a defense of Trump AND Richard Nixon. He presented a nightmarish version of the country where a president can hijack the business of the country to enrich and empower themselves. If it succeeds, there's literally no telling what horrors could await us.
Dershowitz started Monday night, reading off the name of EVERY president and arguing impeachment was never in order. He included John Adams, Andrew Jackson, James Polk, Reagan, W. Bush. All of them tramplers of the Constitution. He brought it to fruition today to dismiss the law.
To save Trump, Dershowitz and his lawyers are willing to throw everything to the wolves and destroy the law. There's no consideration of where this goes. What happens. What havoc it eventually looses. It's a strategy to "win" now and not worry, which is Trumpian at its core.
This is a completely bad faith argument and Dershowitz and the team understand it's creating a dictatorial presidency. They stood by and watched the Bush Administration expand illegally. They know the electoral map, the electoral college. It's a poison defense and just terrifying
