I have a lot to say about this.

1. I tried ISR with my third baby and hated it. I thought it was cruel and it made my baby afraid of water and strangers. Not good.

2. I also have pulled a drowned 4 year old who couldn't swim from a pool, blue & cold.

I think ISR is cruel and **nothing** makes a toddler or baby "water-safe". Not a real thing.

However, if your kid is at any risk of being near a body of water & out of your sight for even one moment, ISR can be worth it. It does save lives.

But I'm telling you, it sucks.
I literally watched the teacher just take my baby from me and hold her under water for a LONG TIME the moment she touched the water. I still have nightmares. We quit after 4 lessons, surrendering what I'd paid. No regrets on losing that $$.

But...
I never want to hold another cold, lifeless child in my arms again.

One note - we performed CPR on the child for 4 minutes and saved his life, but it was truly a miracle. Even the paramedics couldn't believe it.

Drowning is SILENT and happens to kids of good parents, too. 🙏

If you ask me how I'm doing, I'm going to tell you the truth. I'm tired. Like, tired into my bones. I have a toddler who doesn't sleep, a sick parent, very busy big kids, a job, a house under construction...

I'm tired. It's a lot. And I'm going to tell you that when you ask.
I'm sick of society's expectation that we're not going to burden each other with the truth when someone asks "how are you?" or "What's happening in your life?"

We need to be honest with each other. We aren't helping anyone with this garbage. So I'm gonna tell you the truth.
And if it feels like a burden to know how people are really doing, don't ask the question in the first place.

It's really quite simple. It's not about being negative or a downer. It's about being honest, and sometimes life is negative. That's just the facts.

Here's how I see this - for generations, dad's were supposed to want sons and just sort of tolerated daughters. I'm Gen X and it was still sorta like that for us.

I think Girl Dad probably seems really weird to younger generations who grew up in a more empowered time...
But the current batch of girl dad stuff is all related to Kobe. For all his failings, it seems like one thing he did really well was be a dad to his girls, and proudly.

This is all a good thing, even though we wish it were unnecessary.

1. Morning folks from the village. Many asked about my goat housing. So this is the main goat pen. It has 2 compartments & a big store room. The pregnant females & those with kids stay on 1 side & the non pregnant females stay on the other side. The structure is 40m X 9meters.
2. This is the second goat pen building for the ones that I would have weaned off their mothers. The breeding boer goat males would be ready for sale at 6 months. We sale them at US$500 each.There is a massive shortage in the country at the moment because there are fewer breeders
3. #Water I use a 1.5 hp solar pump which pumps into a 5000 liter tank & then use gravity to distribute to the paddocks which have water pans for the goats. It is advisable to give them clean water to avoid liver fluke disease. I bought my borehole kit for R3000 in SA from DAB.

How are Potholes formed?

The Wikipedia post basically outlines the issues as a failure in the fabric of the road due to moisture beneath the road surface & fatigue from vehicle load.

The article points more at snow as being the moisture enabling culprit but we obviously don't have snow in these parts.
'Snow' may therefore be substituted for another firm of precipitation - rain (and subsequently water).

Good morning sports fans it's day two of the #cpc18. I'm not there yet, but my coverage is starting early thanks to internet feelers I put out yesterday. I'm hearing that axing supply management has been scheduled as the last policy vote in it's session.
And that because it's the last vote in the session party members are going to try and run the clock on the policy session so it never comes to a vote, and therefore is shot down without being explicitly voted against.
I'll try and chase that down once I'm actually there.

black lives matter. all cops are bastards.
i’m late for court & my bones hurt. probably slap a content warning for rape & police violence on everything that comes after this.
lunch break. this morning, judge moore started by saying barring black lives matter shirts from his courtroom is not about restricting free speech, it’s about the right to a fair trial superseding the right to express oneself.
he says BLM shirts in the gallery for this case (a white cop sexually assaulting a black woman in her home on TWO occasions) might influence the jury. buddy, if the idea that black people’s lives have value is gonna a sway your jury, y’all have picked a very bad jury.
