“I am so incredibly in love with the movement that our campaign of #NotMeUs has created. This makes me protective over it and frustrated by attempts to dismiss the strength and diversity of our movement. (1/4)

“In this instance, I allowed my disappointment with Secretary Clinton's latest comments about Senator Sanders and his supporters get the best of me. You all, my sisters-in-service on stage, and our movement deserve better. (3/4)

I'm sharing some scholarly research on facial recognition w/ @detroitpolice to continue the dialogue. While facial recognition identifies a white man’s gender 99% of the time, it misidentifies darker-skinned females up to 35% of the time. nytimes.com/2018/02/09/tec… 1/7
Another study in 2018 from the National Institute of Standards and Technology found that facial recognition falsely matches Black women’s faces 10 times more frequently than white women.  This is a deeply flawed technology. wired.com/story/best-alg… 2/7
Because this technology is untested, it will rely on real people to make judgments about whether someone is a match. Scientific research about the cross-race effect shows that people are less accurate in judging faces of people of a different race.  ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P… 3/7

I will #neverforget 9/11. I was working at a nonprofit Arab American human services organization, ACCESS, while in law school. My day started like any other—until I heard gasps from coworkers in the lunch room. I rushed in and saw faces of shock facing the television. (1/4)
Then we saw a plane hit the second tower and the room erupted in tears and heartbreak. Our country was being attacked. Soon, our phones began to ring with many threatening those at ACCESS and the local community with violence. (2/4)
Still, our communities came together to mourn, to stand in solidarity with fellow Americans across the country, and to reject hate and the terror that comes from it. (3/4)

✔Working to get pet coke on the list of toxic chemicals list.

✔American Cars, American Jobs - Helps residents purchase cars made by workers in the U.S.
Amendments Passed:

✔An amendment to hold auto title & insurance companies accountable to stop discriminatory practices.

✔An amendment to prevent the closure of EPA stations in areas that our not adhering to environmental standards. Wayne County is one of those places.

Some back-of-the-envelope calculations: Putting the world on course to appropriately address the climate emergency would require 20% of global GDP over the next 10 years.

In the US, only Bernie Sanders’ climate plan is on this scale.

2. Help draw attention to nonviolent protests and mass action.

3. Share kindness.
To add: My goal (like yours) is to do my part to ensure justice and fairness for all, to fight racism, misogyny, and bigotry, to get corruption and greed out of government, and to spread good in this world. One way we do that is by electing reps for the PEOPLE, not the powerful.
Furthermore: Elections alone will not solve the deep injustices and inequalities in this world.

We must be willing to take to the streets in nonviolent protest, to work in solidarity with one another, to create and sustain a mass movement.

WE ARE THE SOLUTION.

Last night I congratulated Dan Bishop on his victory. Our refrain on this campaign was Country over Party. I believe that when our country succeeds, we all succeed. For me, that means offering my help to Dan Bishop as he takes over his job representing us. I wish him the best.
To everyone who gave what you could in this campaign, thank you. I am so proud of you, and you should be proud of what we did together! #nc09 has been in Republican hands since 1963. A Democrat was never even supposed to be competitive here, and we came within an inch of winning.
Today is 9/11, and my thoughts are with my Marines. I must tell you that after serving with my platoon in Iraq, I learned not to use the word 'honor' lightly. Serving side by side with my Marines from every part of our country, that was an honor.

She starts by saying she never heard of Bernie before. That's not unusual in itself, but later she mentions Bernie's "alignment with socialist values" as the main attraction. So we are to believe she is a young socialist but never heard of most progressive senator in the US. 2/?
Notice the use of the words "I was hooked." This is 100% Brock territory.
According to many dictionary definitions hooked means: "addicted"" unable to stop taking a drug" or "obsessed."
