1/ I find it endlessly fascinating that if you're writing critically about how dark money groups are sham nonprofits that exist only to use tax-exempt status to shield their donors from disclosure, they will protest vehemently
2/ But if you're just doing a story about their stance heading into an election, they will give you financial details and quotes, even though you are discussing them as indistinguishable from their super PACs -- which are, by definition, political politico.com/news/2020/01/3…
3/ Look at the title there: "Trump's Super PAC."

The story is talking about $50.4 million raised by America First Action (super PAC) and America First Policies (dark money), but the majority of that, $31 million, was raised by....not the super PAC cnbc.com/2020/01/31/pro…
