How many of you went to American schools, learn American English & live American way? What have you gained ? You succeed in forgetting yourself

Even the American system we inherited is largely to blame for confusion in Nigeria. We have our ways, but we abandoned it. We need ours
Countries like China, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, even European states like Turkey, Germany and Russia have to abandon the American system before they get it right.

We should not worry on their ban, it’s liberating, we should depend our ourselves & create our systems too.
American education system leaves us with joblessness, American lifestyles destroy our families & cultures, American governance destroys our collective public good.

We became perpetual borrowers of everything. We borrow dollars, lifestyle, education etc. It’s not working for us.

Academics are in the past while skills is for now & future.
Someone asked on my DM: What kind of skills? Good question.

My answer, both objective skills like physical goods & subjective skills like services or digital ones

Eg. look around where you are right now, what did you see, which one of those things you see are you able to build?
Each of those things you see are made by someone who created it in form of value in which money was used to exchange it. That money goes to those among you that have the skills of making those things.

That is your money and your career if you build the necessary skills for it.

With the way things are going, academicians will have a hard time coping. Most of them live in a euphoria of I KNEW (mostly of the past) while in fact, the world is living for the PRESENT and even preparing for the FUTURE.

The current school systems are places to study the past.
Everyday, new things come up & people care-less about yesterday & care more about today while anticipating the future. The knowledge you have right now may become stale/disputable in few seconds

No matter the knowledge of a professor, Google knows better & is everywhere anytime.
Therefore, set your mind upon dynamism & open your doors for learning. Don't be deceived by certificates, they are a record of your past which has less, if any value to the TODAY-NOW-VERB world

If you want to keep up, you must keep learning everyday and try new things every-time

Nigerians have gathered outside the Nigerian consulate. They are getting into the busses so that they can be transported to the airport. First flight out of SA is at 9am. We understand over 600 Nigerians have opted to leave SA due to the recent #XenophobicAttacks
Many mothers with their children are queuing to get a seat on the bus as quick as possible. Over 600 Nigerians have taken up the option to leave the country due to the recent #XenophobicAttacks
One bus has already taken the first load. There are two more busses stationed outside. No one is allowed to speak to the media. A clear instruction from the consulate they say. #XenophobicAttacks

I'm on the road most of today, starting with the one that will now be completed in 2021.

However, I think it's important, before I move, to set some things down for the records.
Like I said yesterday, I know that @sgyemikale and his @nigerianstat team are doing a great job, and it's a pity that my tweet from a few days ago took on an unintended colouration.
For me though, it's a duty to make an effort to guide the conversation in the direction I think it should be heading.

It is true that we have an unemployment crisis, and as Dr. Kale's response showed, many of our MDAs are not getting the money they need to work.

The Egmont Group, an international body of 155 Financial Intelligence Units that provides a platform for the secure exchange of expertise and financial intelligence, meets from today, March 12, 2018, until Thursday, March 15.
A deadline to Nigeria to separate its National Financial Intelligence Unit from the EFCC lapsed yesterday, without Nigeria enacting a law that would have done so. The likely outcome of the Egmont Group’s meeting will be Nigeria’s expulsion from the group.
In July 2017, @EGFIU lost patience with #Nigeria and suspended the NFIU because of @officialEFCC's habit of leaking sensitive financial intelligence to the media.

@officialEFCC had also refused to cooperate in efforts to grant the NFIU operational independence.
