I'm only going to say this once (tonight).

Dear Republicans: If you don't like how Dems choose a champion to fight for people that you guys have spent a lifetime trying to tear down, GO DEFEAT DONALD TRUMP IN YOUR OWN PARTY! Stop trying to ruin OUR party.
NeverTrump Republicans are here because their ideas have proven to be WILDLY UNPOPULAR. Even their fellow REPUBLICANS have rejected their agenda, UNLESS that agenda is served with a giant helping of racism and misogyny on the side.
There are Democrats who think that beating Donald Trump requires being as inoffensive as possible to people who support bigotry. There are Dems who think beating Donald Trump requires making a CLEAR DISTINCTION between his policies, and our own.

I don't know who is right.
But I know that being A REPUBLICAN is not the way to beat Trump. B/c Republicans had every opportunity to beat him with Republican policies, and failed.

You can't be Trump by being a Republican, b/c nobody likes Republicans. They just like the racism Republicans are cool with.

Actually the only Democratic response needed.
I for real think this was a brilliant move. Because instead of talking about Trump's MAGA rally, a lot of people are going to talk about her reaction to it.
AND Trump is going to step on his own story when he sees this on Twitter.
Pelosi just took away part of the half-life of Trump's speech, and Trump will do most of the work himself.

Dems... the "criminal aliens" part is YOUR CUE TO DROWN HIM OUT IN BOOS!
He does this every #SOTU, and every major political speech, by the way. Devotes an entire section of his speech to some kind of Investigation Discovery story he saw and blames it on immigrants.
This one is going on a bit longer than usual.

It's re-election season, you see.

I don’t know how to emotionally prepare/protect myself from this #SOTU.
To be clear, I’m only watching because I’m covering it. Like a train wreck. Or a hurricane. Or the opening of a hellmouth as all the demons start spilling out and despoiling the countryside.
I’m really happy about all the Dems who are not going. I keep saying that we talk about Trump like he’s abnormal, but rarely DO anything abnormal to defeat him, stop him, or even protest him.
