Is every opposition party hell bent on dismantling democracy?

The Judicial Branch is independent from the Executive and Legislative Branches of government.

Disagree with the ruling. Shout that as loud as you want.
But to imply there is a quid pro quo or loyalty by the courts to the governing party, because some of the justices were appointed by the PM, is undermining the institution of law and order.

That isn’t acceptable behaviour. In any circumstance. Ever. From an MP. Or any partisan.
Express disappointment with the decision, though even that is pushing the limit of acceptable behaviour when you are a political leader.

Condemn the decision as being inconsistent to the climate change action required to reduce GHG emissions.
But accusing the judiciary of corruption and collusion with the sitting government is disgraceful behaviour beneath a leader’s responsibilities to the public.
Has anyone else noticed the systemic attack on the court’s independence? It is a frightening development.

We now have CPC, NDP, & Bloc all criticizing the independence of judges because they do not like the results. Accusing judges of siding with political whims, not the law.
If you value democracy, you defend the institutions that uphold democracy. You accept the decisions made by the independent judiciary. Not undermine them. You don’t have to agree, but those who support democracy do NOT attack the validity of the court decision.
An independent judiciary is a pillar of democracy.
Free and fair elections.
A strong 4th estate (media & journalism).
Multi partisan cooperation and multi partisan compromise.

Those are elements of a healthy democracy.
Canadian elections are being attacked. Foreign and domestic influence and interference seeks to manipulate results.

The state of Canadian media is abysmal. Heavily biased, pandering to clicks, the media has abandoned journalism in favour of one sided coverage
I don’t remember the last time left, centre and right leaning politicians cooperated with each other. The level of discourse has evolved into chaos, accusations, character assassination, snide remarks. It’s disheartening.
Every opposition party has refused to compromise. The far left wants climate action immediately and the far right wants to ignore climate action altogether. Both ends refuse to compromise in order to move policy and action along.
And now 3 political opposition parties have criticized the courts and inferred the judiciary & courts are in the PM’s back pocket.

HELLO PEOPLE! Time to be alarmed.
Democracy is on its last legs in Canada. Government institutions are being attacked, the MSM news ignores most attacks on democratic principles, and obstructionism is abundant.
Democracy doesn’t work if 3/4 political parties are undermining institutions, obstructing policy choices of the governing party, refusing to compromise and cooperate and blocking the restoration of the integrity of the 4th estate.
This kind of behaviour is what you see when democracy has eroded. When it’s on it’s last legs. Immediately prior to a collapse of democracy and a revolution for power consolidation.

Like the US in 2015-2016.
Alarmed yet? Push back on your party if they’re trying to undermine the judiciary. Any party doing this needs to be reminded of democratic principles and the pillars required to ensure a healthy democracy.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t agree with the decision. If you support the social democracy known as CANADA, then you don’t undermine the institutions that hold it up. Period. End of discussion.
Now, if you want pandemonium, chaos, also known as anarchy (no recognized government), then you continue down this path and keep chipping away at the institutions that make Canada a law and order society.
NDP & CPC have made their choice. It’s been clear for at least a year, maybe more.

Both are aiming for anarchy. Revolution. Reform of the system.

I am surprised that Bloc is joining in the chorus as well. This doesn’t bode well for Canadian democracy, nor for the citizenry.
There’s one party working to restore the pillars of democracy in Canada. The Liberal party.

NDP are pushing for Democratic Socialism.

CPC is pushing for Ordered Liberty (Autocracy).

I don’t know what Bloc wants.

But only one is supporting a humanist social democracy.
Make your choice.

If you want a social democracy, your choice is limited.

At one point in our history, all three main parties wanted social democracy. That’s no longer the case.
Know what the system of governance you support actually means.

If it’s social democracy, you have one choice.
