M2's signed on to Sega's APM3 arcade platform, and they've announced a Fantasy Zone port as well as a new shooting game called "Senjin"🇯🇵
here's a Senjin teaser from the PV being shown at the venue, which includes in-game footage, hopefully they put it online once JAEPO's over
they're apparently looking to have this running in arcades by fall, and Senjin may be a temp title

I wonder if how how this is connected to the previously announced Mononoke Ninpochou/Ninja Soldier...
oh and there's also another revision of Koihime Enbu coming to APM3, which M2's involved with on the technical side

oh and I forgot to mention it before but Fantasy Zone APM3 is listed as part of a series (temp title "Sega Classics") so it's not just a one-off
an interesting observation: the kanji used for "Senjin (戦刃)" is similar to the kanji used in Golden Axe (戦斧) 🇯🇵 it's a temp title & they already confirmed it's read as "senjin" and not "golden blade" or whatever, but who knows...?

idk if anyone's actually waiting on this but it's been a while so, MD Mini book update: the short answer is I thought I might have interest from a certain publisher but it ended up fizzling out and the specific work they asked me to do ended up going to waste, so now I'm back(>)
to where I was a few months ago without much to show for it

budget's still an issue but the publisher thing is more about access—I made it a firm goal to talk to somebody involved with each & every game on every version of the MD Mini but I won't be able to talk to a small(>)
handful of ppl as an indie, and at this point I think I might just give up on those games

anyway, it's still coming, even though nobody's gonna still be thinking about MD Mini by the time I'm finally done, and that's all on me (& all those time-vampire SRPGS on the JP Mini)

wasn't super attentive but afaik the announcements were 99% Quest & merch-related and maybe an eSports tournament date at the very beginning, I don't even remember

they did kinda randomly announce "Puyo Puyo Quest eSports" with no details, I guess they're going the PAD route

incidentally, I picked this up recently but never tried it, I guess now's the time: TV Game Kentei, a 2008 DS game from Namco based on Namco's FC catalogue that's halfway between Brain Age and WarioWare
I guess it's more like NES Remix, come to think of it—the way it works is it gives you groups of mini-challenges takes from Namco FC games, sorted by genre, then at the end it grades and quizzes you to determine your "gaming age"
there are also a bunch of Idolmaster characters hanging out, they're the ones quizzing you iirc and they each have their own unique minigames, I wanna say one's a Wizardry-esque wireframe dungeon crawler

This was reinforced in some odd ways. In high school, I participated a lot (and well) in trivia competitions (which we called "quizzes"). Here knowing facts, names, and classifications was a superpower. »
