Flowers are placed on actor Kirk Douglas' star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, Feb. 5, 2020. Douglas, the muscular actor with the dimpled chin who starred in "Spartacus and dozens of other films and helped fatally weaken the Hollywood blacklist, died at 103.
Paths of Glory is a great 1957 anti-war film directed by Stanley Kubrick. Set during World War I, the film stars Kirk Douglas the commanding officer of French soldiers who refuse to continue a suicidal attack, after which he attempts to defend them against a charge of cowardice.
