They didn't just quit -- they spoke out. "I can no longer serve in a Department of State that accepts the forceful dismemberment of a European state and that will not act against genocide and the Serbian officials who perpetrate it," Marshall Harris wrote in his resignation.
Though they didn't all resign at the same time, as the Roger Stone prosecutors are doing today, each of them got a large amount of attention when they quit. But it would be several years before the Clinton administration would finally intervene to stop the genocide in Bosnia.
Let's hope America's descent into autocracy can be halted on a quicker timeline than the war in Bosnia.
