Musée Rodin

Musée Rodin is one of my favorite destinations in Paris.

The museum itself is a jewel, housed in the Hôtel Biron, surrounded by well tended gardens.

There is a nice little cafe in the garden.

S’il est né le 31 janvier 1869 au Cateau, Matisse a grandi dans cette maison, au cœur de Bohain, de janvier 1870 jusqu’à son départ définitif pour Paris en 1891. Son père était grainetier, sa mère aimait la peinture. @MaisonMatisse
La maison familiale, vendue en 1922 (?), a été rachetée par le département en 2004 puis rénovée et ouverte au public en 2008.
Tout est très librement « reconstitué » pour évoquer la présence de l’artiste et le milieu social et industriel dans lequel il a grandi.
