It occurred to me that the thing about the jerkoff left is that they don’t actually want to WIN.

Their leftism is mostly a hipster pose, a gesture of too-cool-for-my-pants nihilistic South Parkian smugness.

They’re incapable of solidarity, forming a coalition, or even not being assholes for five seconds, because they get their hipster cred by drawing the circle of orthodoxy as tightly around themselves as possible.

They’re like a 1988 NME article that takes it as read that The Cure and Siouxsie are too pop and REAL goths only listen to Fields of the Nephilim.

That's why their main target of scorn is "liberals" -- people who are on the left but not part of their inner circle, who, as far as the larger world is concerned, are indistinguishable FROM the leftists.

It's hipster rules, right?
You never bother talking about how much, say, Huey Lewis and the News sucks -- they're too far away -- you're only interested in tearing down the obvious suckiness of bands that are RIGHT THERE.

The jerkoff left doesn't want Bernie to win, per se -- they just want the OTHER Democrats to LOSE. That's why they align with Magas so often, and why they're such jerks about it -- Magas, too, define "winning" for themselves only as other people losing.

And that's also why, if any Democrat OTHER than Bernie wins the nomination, they want DJT to win -- because the only goal is defeating the hated "liberals" and in that, conservatives are their allies.

The worrying thing is that, if I've pegged their psychology accurately, they don't want Bernie to win either.

Maybe they don't KNOW this about themselves, but it's still there operating at some level, & will come out if Bernie starts getting close to the nomination.

And, heck, that's probably why all this is happening -- the jerkoff left is getting pumped up by the right wing (money, exposure, etc.) because they share a goal: get Bernie the nomination because they think he WON'T win.

And it's why, if you point out out that their jerkoff behavior can only HURT Bernie's chances, they always double down. Their goal is to be smug leftier-than-thou assholes, not be part of a political movement.

They don't want their candidate to be in CHARGE any more than any hipster wants their favorite band to have a number one single.

Anyway, I don't know that any of that makes a difference, but I feel better having articulated it to myself. And it also explains some of the otherwise surprising pro-Bernie stuff I've heard from people who are absolutely NOT liberals, leftists, or Democrats --

But they are smug hipsters, and now that I think about it, they weren't PRO Bernie so much as they were ANTI anybody who could be construed as Bernie's "enemy" -- Hillary Clinton, the DNC, etc.

Which, ironically, means that those of us currently pushing for other candidates FIRST, who are still happy to vote for Bernie should he win, are actually MORE pro-Bernie than the jerkoff Bernie "stans" out there tweeting snake emojis at us.

Because, should Bernie Sanders get the nomination, HELL YEAH I want him to win.
