我看到有人講階級問題時,提起談起大佛普拉斯,然後發現 Netflix 有這部所以看了。

彩色與黑白的對比挺好的,但我覺得導演的解說有點煩。只不過,考慮到角色們設定上沉默寡言、能成功演繹的演員也不太多,導演好像只能這麼做。

劇情嘛,沒什麼起伏:沒辦法,台灣人頗認命的。如果落到底層,只能甘願受了。這樣的角色,當然也沒什麼起伏與衝突。

和小丑與寄生上游放在一起,可以看出各自社會頂層的人會怎麼生活--美國人選擇暴動、韓國人選擇依附(上層)、台灣人則選了認命。
電影角色那種認命的態度,和政治與宗教脫離不了關係。

政治嘛,自然就是官商勾結。官商勾結的壞印象、加上對於黑社會的恐懼,讓角色們根本不相信執法機關能執法。

我覺得宗教的探討很有趣。基本上,宗教是電影的核心主題之一。我覺得宗教教化,好像讓角色們的行動變得很被動。

宗教是人民的鴉片。
三個影片的女性,角色地位似乎都很低--小丑的女性大概是幾個路人、放任幼兒虐待的小丑他媽;寄生上流有幫傭、假老師、還有給老公當花瓶的...毒蟲?再來是大佛普拉斯,甚至淪為老闆發洩性慾的肉便器。

我覺得這反映一個事實:在一個階級分化的社會,女性的地位很低,甚至沒人記得。

最後,電影似乎在暗示,老闆早就知道有人偷看他的「殺人」過程,所以決定殺人滅口。可惜最後失敗:受害者被困在佛像裡面,結果公司倒了。
