OKAY BUT THIS IS IMPORTANT.

When Donald was younger, his dad ran a scam where he bribed a government official for housing contracts. The official lived a "racy" lifestyle, while Fred Christ Trump lived beneath his corrupt means, hiding his ill-gotten wealth.
Fred wound up being hauled on the carpet before Congress as a result of his associate's lack of discretion, but the lesson Donald learned from it was that hiding your wrong-doing was no protection from consequences. He envied the flashy lifestyle. He wanted to live large.
Congressional oversight chafes Donald like nothing else in his role as the so-called president of these benighted states because he remembers his father, the great and terrible god of his youth, humbled and humiliated by Congress.
His acting out in the wake of his Senate acquital is an act of vengeance from a youth spent eating inferior cuts of bargain brand meat (why do you think he prefers well done with lots of ketchup) in a house in Queens when he knew they had money for a Manhattan penthouse.
He spent all his dad's money, his siblings' inheritance, building up the myth of the life he thought he was born to lead, which lent him an image of a successful businessman that let him fleece banks, investors, and then NBC Universal for The Apprentice.
He has *never* been successful in business. He's a successful grifter, who used first daddy's money and then investment dollars and later still laundered money to live the life his father denied him growing up, always projecting an image that let him attract more bucks.
Even more so than his foreign ties, the reason he resisted releasing his taxes is the same reason he's resisted divesting: his business empire is a pinata, a hollow construct of paper covered in brightly died scraps.
