people may not realise that blackoak's spent literal weeks holed up in the National Diet Library scanning old material and is sitting on a massive backlog of content, and the work he's already put into the site goes far beyond his ostensible budget, so if for whatever reason(>)
...you're not swayed by the mere notion of giving him adequate compensation for his work, know that more patrons means more time to commit to translation, the potential to bring in more translators, genre specialists, etc & other assistants to help whittle down the backlog
beyond what's already been amassed, there's also the potential for more video content, more contemporary interview/editorial content, etc... the pile is ever-growing, and I'd like to think there's a future that doesn't involve blackoak squinting at Micom Basic on his deathbed
this material isn't just trivia or wiki filler, either—a lot of the material shared on shmuplations has been referenced & even commissioned by publishers & owners of many classic games, and blackoak has been hired to directly assist on projects you've probably seen or played
so yeah, if you follow me then you'll be more than aware of his work & probably already contribute but if not, give it some thought or at the very least, spread the word—this isn't a commercial venture & there aren't as many other ppl out there doing this work as you might assume
