Here's a story about #Immigration and how it can create stepping stones for many people.

The story starts in #Littlehampton, some time before WW2 when Mr and Mrs Perilli moved from Naples to the town and worked in a cafe.

Would the Perillis have passed the points system being proposed at the moment? Probably not, so in a universe run by @patel4witham the story stops here.

We pick our story up in an air raid shelter in Littlehampton during a bombing raid. Gilda Perilli has been pregnant for the usual allotted time and gives birth to a daughter - Anita Perilli.

Anita Perilli grew up in Sussex as a second generation immigrant. She met, fell in love with and married a British man called Gordon.

In 1976, down the road in Brighton, Anita and Gordon Roddick opened the first Body Shop.

This would not have happened if the Perillis had been turned away from the UK due to a points system.

Since 1976, the Body Shop has set up a head office back in Littlehampton, where our story started. This has drawn employment to the town and added to the local economy no end.

The ripple sent out by the immigration of two people from Italy to the UK has caused the world to change. The world of retail and cosmetics would not be the same without that event.

On a personal level, the changes caused by this one subsection of immigration has given people the opportunity to start and build their careers in Retail.

Would the local economy be poorer without immigration?

Would the country be poorer without immigration?

Would the world in general be a worse place without immigration?

Is what the Government are doing now deeply damaging?
