As covered in this thread, Bisq liquidity in key markets (USD, EUR, XMR) improved significantly and consistently in 2019.

Number of trades almost doubled.

How can we build on this? How can we do even better?

Focus, process, and consistency are key ingredients...with a dash of API.

Yes folks, an API is finally coming.

You see -- with the v1.0 release, DAO launch, bank account incidents, removal of arbitrators, and other factors, it wasn't really suitable to attract attention to Bisq for much of 2019.

Now this changes.

In fact, growth is more important than ever for Bisq, not just for users like you to have a better experience, but for Bisq itself—it needs to balance its budget!

BSQ issuance must be controlled.

Focus: USD, EUR, and XMR.

This doesn't mean we're ignoring other markets, but we need to focus on our biggest, proven markets to get revenue in line with spending ASAP.

Once we've achieved that, we can broaden focus.

We hope to take these markets to the next level by filling gaps in offer books through targeted market making...and to support these efforts with better communication (e.g., how to get payment accounts signed for higher limits, better onboarding resources, etc).

Process: we're leaving behind our rather scattershot approach of the recent past for more formalized roles and conventions to better coordinate our efforts.

Anyway, we know many of you badly want an API, so we're happy to mention that's seeing progress too.

Intention is to release a headless bisqd that can be run almost anywhere and accessed via an RPC API.

Proof-of-concept was done a short while ago.

In the nearer term, we're happy to announce that we'll be at @bitcoin2020conf right alongside our friends from @torproject and @btcpayserver.

We've got all sorts of fun stuff planned for the event itself—just you wait—but we want to take advantage of the opportunity to put on the biggest USD liquidity event ever (on Bisq).
