PARKINSON’S DISORDER (PD) is increasingly looking like a disorder that begins with bowel dysbiosis that results in a deformed small peptide chain of amino acids, called alpha-synuclein, formed in the bowel wall contiguous with the enteric nervous system.
Deformed Alpha-synuclein possibly traverses autonomic nervous system (particularly the Vagus nerve, damaging it) & into brain centers to enter presynaptic nerve endings, disrupting neurotransmitter vesicle function & release, & to form abnormal Lewie bodies of Parkinson’s.
The aggregated pathogenic alpha-synuclein decreases dopamine transport in the brain (substantia nigra) a key factor in Parkinson’s.
Another aspect of bowel dysbiosis is microbiota release of certain small chain fatty acids (SCFA). These errant molecules cross the blood brain barrier; initiating brain microglial cell inflammation, thought to aggravate pathologic processes of Parkinson’s.
