6.1 Provide update to Voter's Choice Act Implementation by Registrar Brandi Orth: 70,000 voters have already cast their votes with a week still to go! Security will kick in if a breach. Electrician checks the Vote Centers.

Brandau: Sheriff Mims not in support of Sanctuary State and City over Federal policies. Pacheco: these policies were not in our packet. These appear to be just political campaign statements. I want to get rid of these. Just political fodder and I don’t want this in our chambers
Mendes: we can get more done by not adding political statements. As much as I hate it to be nice we need to cooperate with State. Quintero: manufacturing We always tried to focus on Fresno businesses first before approaching other cities when he was on Fresno City Council.

13. Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the Opt-In Letter to the California Complete Count - Census 2020 Office for an additional allocation of $157,350 for county outreach activities to promote participation in the 2020 Census
Trying to reach out to hard to count communities. $157,000 contingency fund for outreach and printing. Those precincts that have 70% or higher will be focused on. Will work with long established service providers. Language support and digital access. Census will be sent out in
March 2020. Mendes: at beginning of republic 1/3 favored the king,1/3 wanted revolution and 1/3 didn’t care. Still exists today.
Board Comments: @stevebrandau asks on update on Rowell Building. No tenant improvements yet due to landowner not hiring firm. DA Smittcamp: Looking occupying by end of 2020. Developer and General Contractor are having issues with each other.
