it’s meeting o’clock
there aren’t usually this many people at the housing advisory committee! not sure what brought them all here, since the agenda lists absolutely nothing specific.
“everyone is pretty certain that theirs is the right way, but on analysis, none of them really made sense,” - local government out of context, applicable to most things.
the HAC is discussing the mandatory search period for people receiving supplemental rental assistance. currently they have to look within the city for 90 days before they can look in the county. they’re proposing shortening that to 60 days.

heather hill really can’t get over the fact that the city would provide financial assistance to people who end up being county residents. assistant city manager mike murphy points out that that outcome actually costs the city less in terms of schools & social services.
returning now to this conversation from the subcommittee meeting about the possibility of incentives for landlords who accept housing vouchers

oh wow meeting adjourned an hour early! perfect timing - the county board of supervisors meeting is just starting. i don’t usually go to those (i can only take so much, ok?) but i’m curious to see how the county is handling their discussion of jefferson’s birthday.
