I'm not sure the Democratic demographic you get by shitting on the social changes brought on by the political activism of the sixties, but I lied I do know the exact demographic and I promise you they're voting for Trump.
Yes, and Obama was *wrong*; that is the clear lesson of the last 12 years.

There are people who are politically engaged and energized and ready to fight those battles and we’re going to have to fight them to prevent a great regression toward injustice.

When there’s a new Dave Brooks column:
When fascists are in power all they need is for you to prefer them to personal discomfort, and now, by those lights, David Brooks has proved himself to be the good fascist we always knew him to be.

And no I’m not linking to that fascist nonsense.
Brooks knows Trump is a lawless authoritarian, but all the same he used his platform as he always does: soothing people of privilege by telling them their comfort makes them virtuous—this time in service of positioning healthcare and education as a greater threat than fascism.

What needs to be clearly communicated about the #coronavirusus debacle is this: We’ve survived Trump this long because he inherited American institutions that were developed and maintained by generations of smart and dedicated people, and it’s taken him 3 years to corrode them.
If we elect him to 4 more years, it WILL all fall apart. That’s an inescapable truth and we’re seeing the start of it.
1) Obviously this isn’t one guy; it’s 40 years of Republican corrosion, but the message must be Trump is not survivable.

#democratic primary: It's 12/1 and just over 2 months to the IA caucuses. So what the heck is going on in this primary that's being conducted in the middle of a constitutional crisis? Well, the bottom line is that young voters are steadier in their preferences than older voters.
Taking @surveyusa polling from Aug-Nov, we see that the 18-34 vote has barely moved for Warren (-1), Pete (+1), Biden (+2) and Harris (-1). For Bernie, there was a big drop of -10 from Aug to Sept, but has since stabilized at 35, highest of any candidate in that demo.
Among 35-49 voters, since Aug, Liz is +2, Pete (0), Bernie (-1), Joe (-5) and Harris (-4). Among 50-64 voters: Warren (+2), Pete (0), Bernie (-1), Biden (-4), Harris (-5). Among 65+: Warren (-13), Pete (+7), Bernie (+2), Joe (-4), Harris (-5).

We've been told for as long as I can remember, 2 things never to discuss are religion & politics.  I stuck to that among strangers, business associates & brief acquaintances.  I didn't always practice that among my closest friends, siblings & most extended family members.

We would playfully take jabs at each other's religious & political opinions, walk away still friends/family.  I found that during the 2 times Obama ran for President, the playful jabs that were once fun, began to become tense & unacceptable.  At 1st it was a subtle division.

1. During World War II, the US and Japan waged an extended battle for control of the Solomon Islands, including the island of Guadalcanal, in the South Pacific. I visited there over Memorial Day weekend, and have put together my own photos and historical pics to tell that story.
2. The story begins in the immediate aftermath of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. With the US battleship fleet crippled, Japanese forces rapidly advanced south to capture the Philippines, Malaya, and the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia), driving towards Australia.
3. In May 1942, a Japanese invasion force moved in to capture Port Moresby in New Guinea by sea. The US Navy threw two aircraft carriers (the Lexington and Yorktown) into the Coral Sea to stop them.
