Windy says mind now . . . It was the SPANISH Met Office that named this storm as it’s meant to impact them more than us

As far as I’m aware - Spain / France / Portugal all work together and each have their own list . . .

As well as our Met Office, Met Éireann and the Dutch Met Office all working together with their own list as well . . . Confusing eh

Whoever names it first uses one of their names, regardless of what letter it starts with

If “we” name the next storm it will be called ELLEN . . .

If “they” name it, it will be called KATERINE . . . as Jorge (HOR-hey) has already been named

We don’t really see much of the European weather on TV, but they’ve already had - Amelie. Bernardo. Cecilia. Daniel. Elsa. Fabian. Gloria. Herve. Inés and now JORGE (HOR-hey) . . .

Next up for “them” will be - Katerine. Leon. Myriam. Norberto. Odette. Prosper. Raquel. Simon. Teresa. Valentin. Wanda

Just as we’ve already had - Atiyah. Brendan. Ciara and Dennis . . . next up is ELLEN, then it’s Francis. Gerda. Hugh. Iris. Jan and Kitty . . .

Anyway. Weather. Storm Jorge (HOR-hey) Mostly (but not all) confined to the SOUTHERN parts of the UK and Ireland over today and the weekend . . .

SCOTLAND sees rain and wintry showers later on this afternoon. And heavy rain Saturday morning, with strong winds late late Saturday night into Sunday . . . with Sunday also seeing wintry showers for some (not all) with snow over higher ground . . .

For SCOTLAND, the worst of the wind and rain will be late late Saturday night into Sunday morning . . . Winds gusting at 50/60mph, so nothing untoward for us really . . . If yer up in the Northern Isles it’ll be a 2 pegger 😉
