This project took me nearly five years.

My band, the Airborne Toxic Event, made a record which is the soundtrack to that book. It’s also called Hollywood Park.

My dad died five years ago and my life fell apart. I hardly left my house for 9 months. I was very depressed. I put on weight, cried every day. He was my best friend so I was devastated and I guess it's fair to say that this project was my way of trying to make sense of it.
The album is a 55 minute concept record about my dad's life, my childhood, the struggle w childhood trauma, war, addiction, prison, and prisons of the mind built by fear.
I guess it's fair to say that we were thinking about The Wall by Pink Floyd and Born to Run by Springsteen.
