Why I'm leaving it all on the field for @ewarren, a long thread.
As most of you know, I have spent the last several months working as hard as I possibly can to elect @ewarren president. Those months of long and intense work have all been building to this moment, and I can’t believe Super Tuesday is now just a few days away.
Without exaggeration, I can honestly say that I have never been as excited about a candidate as I am about @ewarren. I have never worked this diligently for anyone and never sacrificed this much time with my family for literally anything.
I am doing all of this because I believe to my core that @ewarren will be a phenomenal president.
Early on in the primary season, I did not intend to throw my weight behind anyone. My only goal was to beat DT and I didn’t care who the nominee was as long as they could defeat the worst president in our nation’s history.
But then something happened. @ewarren started to release plan after plan after plan offering a thoughtful, compassionate, & equitable vision for America. She showed that progressive policies, empathetic leadership, effectiveness, AND electability were all possible.
@ewarren gave me something I hadn’t felt in a long time: Hope.
Throughout my 20+ years as a voter — in local, state, and federal elections — I can count on one hand the number of times I have truly cast my vote for someone as opposed to against the Republican.
I deeply believe that the unprecedented nature of this moment calls for so much more than simply voting against Donald Trump. @ewarren is inspiring people all across this country to vote, volunteer, mobilize, and activate *for* her.
@ewarren is building a movement that is expanding the electorate, appealing to people across the political ideological spectrum, engaging people of all ages, including people on the margins, fighting for justice, and building upon the momentum of the women’s wave of 2018.
@ewarren is smart as hell, tough as nails, compassionate as they come, and — as one of my favorite volunteers often says — she is an anti-corruption warrior. These traits put her in starkest contrast to the most-corrupt, least-intelligent, & cruelest president we have ever seen.
The main reason I am leaving it all on the field for @ewarren is that she is a teacher and also a lifelong learner. This is on full display when she sits down with communities and activists on the front lines and those most-affected by the policies coming out of Washington.
@ewarren listens, actively leans in, learns, and even course-corrects when necessary. She is building relationships and allowing herself to be held accountable to people (not to large donors, big banks, or corporations). She will truly be a one-of-a-kind leader for all people.
I welcome you to browse all of those incredibly inspiring plans that first moved me to get on board. @ewarren is refusing to nibble around the edges and understands that the urgency of this moment requires big, structural change.
The comprehensive & intersectional way, for instance, in which @ewarren is planning to tackle the climate crisis assuages my ongoing panic about my kids’ future & actually makes me feel optimistic that everything is going to be ok.
As I recently had the privilege of hearing @AyannaPressley say, “Elizabeth is unapologetically aspirational and all of her plans show those aspirations are actually attainable.” She is committed to progressive policies and knows how to get them passed.
It is with humility and gratitude that I ask each and every one of you to join me in supporting @ewarren on Tuesday, March 3rd and beyond.
I understand this is a big decision and a scary time, but I have never been more certain of anything in my life: @ewarren is the strongest and best candidate we can nominate to beat Donald Trump and she will be a phenomenal president.
