@BBCNews Patel was Employment Minister from May 2015-July 2016. Her spokesman said she was "not aware" of the complaint.
Govt did not deny it but said it would not comment on personnel issues.
@BBCNews Whitehall insider with knowledge of her time at DWP said she'd created a "hostile and unhappy" environment for civil servants there by questioning their capability and undermining their performance. "I felt very sorry for people in her private office - they felt bullied."

BREAKING: Proportion of crimes which led to suspect being cautioned/charged has fallen to new low - 7.3% - according to new @ukhomeoffice data. Separate police figures show knife crime up again, by 7%, robberies up 12%, car crime up 4%. Figures for Eng/Wales, year to Sept 2019
@ukhomeoffice Proportion of crimes leading to prosecution in Eng/Wales has been on continuous decline since 2015, when data first compiled this way. Then, 15.5% of offences led to suspect being charged/summonsed. In year to Sept 2019, it was 7.3%, which is about one in 14 cases.
@ukhomeoffice In addition, 1.4% of crimes led to a caution, 2.3% resulted in an informal warning and 0.1% were "taken into consideration". Just 1.4% of recorded rape offences led to a charge, 5.4% of thefts and 7.2% of robberies.

I’m at Old Bailey for sentencing of Met Police Superintendent Robyn Williams - found guilty last week of possessing an indecent image, a 52-second child abuse video sent to her on WhatsApp by her sister, Jennifer Hodge. She and her partner, Dido Massivi, also convicted.
Prosecution barrister Richard Wright QC says Williams’ position as a police officer is a “serious aggravating factor” in determining the appropriate sentence
Judge says he’s considering imposing an unpaid work order but asks probation to speak to Williams, Hodge and Massivi first to establish whether they’re prepared and able to do that, so we have a short pause in proceedings.

Okay, as discussed, a thread with some links for @moneymind_ANEP regarding his claims about MMT. Gonna be a long one, so fair warning. Specifically, I’m referring to the following three big claims Wolfgang has made, which can be found in this thread:

The claims are as follows:

1. ‘MMT applies to countries other than the US, but not to the same degree … MMT tends to implicitly presuppose in a model-platonistic manner that all 200 states had the same quality of institutions, and does not connect to the state-building debate’
2. MMT ignores the actual practical workings of institutions…institutions are presupposed, & even if they are taken into account it’s presuppose they are the same everywhere, & institutional quality is not looked at

3. MMT has only a partial view of law that ignores private law
