My primary isn’t for two weeks. If you’re doing any math around who gets whose Warren’s votes if she drops out before then:

I am a progressive Warren supporter. I decry racial, financial, gender, and social inequality.
I believe that big corporations have an obligation to “pay back” (by way of higher taxes) the rest of us that paved their way.

I believe that free markets result in a consolidation of power and wealth that benefits the already-rich and powerful…which harms of the rest of us.
I believe in civil liberty. The right to privacy. The right to be forgotten. The right to choose. The right to be seen & treated as an equal. The right to an education that improves one’s capacity to contribute to society. The right to not live in fear of guns every-damn-where.
I believe there‘s no “greatest country in the world.” There are, however, countries made greater by the labors of immigrants; countries that lift up the disadvantaged rather than push them down (or out); countries that earn the respect and trust of their peers on the world stage.
I believe in the transformative power of science…and the inability of an unregulated marketplace to adhere to scientific standards.

I believe that a person’s intelligence should be extolled and not feared, and that the people running our government should be smarter than me.
I believe these things because it’s who I am. Not always, but for most of my adult life. And those beliefs align with classic progressivism as well as so-called “new progressivism.”

Progressivism has its roots in pragmatism; I also consider myself to be a pragmatic person.
I don’t always get it right. Progressive plus pragmatic doesn’t equal perfect.

We are all flawed people, after all.

But the key part of progressivism is right there in the root of the word: progress. Change…for the good. I try hard to learn from my mistakes. To grow. To adapt.
Now: I trust I have proven my bona fides—both in this thread, and on my timeline—so I’ll get back to my point.

I will vote for Elizabeth Warren. If she drops out, I will vote for Joe Biden.

And I will vote for the Democratic candidate—*no matter who it is*—in November.
And yes, I will vote for any and all Democrats all the way down my ballot. I will continue to do so for as long as the Republican Party is anti-progress, anti-science, and anti-every-other-fucking-thing-I-believe-in.

And I won’t insult anyone else for supporting a different Dem.
I may try to convince them. But probably not. Because proselytizing isn’t progressive.

Critical thinking is an important skill to have, and I can’t possibly teach it in 280-character chunks.

But I’ll probably keep trying. 🤣

Anyway, #VoteBlueNoMatterWho, and be good to you. 💙
