1) So I started watching today’s shows, and MSNBC wasn’t that bad between 1 thru 4 pm as the only real 2020 coverage they gave was a small segment of two about Steyer making the debates.
2) CNN on the other hand started pissing me off almost right away. Inside Politics ran part of Biden‘s new Iowa ad on air and then talked about it for a bit, so they essentially Gabe him free air time for his commercial
3) meanwhile Brooke Baldwin had a fairly long interview with Biden endorser John Kerry where she even started a question specifically asking Kerry why “Bernie was wrong”. Sure looks like CNN is back to pushing Biden nonstop more than they are smearing Bernie, at least for today
4) Btw for those asking, as far as I can tell, we are now up to 4 pm today with no mention of the Sunrise endorsement of Bernie on either channel at least during the many hours I watch
5) MSNBC continues to be fine thru 5 pm by basically not covering the main candidates in 2020, and really that’s the best we can ask for. CNN continues to be a shot show tho
6) It was bad enough that Tapper once again played part of Biden’s new ad, essentially giving him free advertising, but one of the panelists who, big surprise...., works for WaPo in Seung Min Kim said that Warren is the second choice of Biden and Bernie voters.
7) As Morning Consult has continuously shown for weeks now, Bernie Sanders is the number 2 choice for both Warren and Biden supporters. Warren is in no way the second choice for Biden voters. This should have been fact checked by the usually good @mehdirhasan
@mehdirhasan 8) Just to be clear, Jake Tapper is the host and should have been the one to correct her false statement, but I have next to know expectations for Tapper to be an honest broker while u have some respect for Mehdi

@mehdirhasan 12) Nothing during the 5 pm hour on CNN but the 6 pm hour has been advertised as having the new Des Moines poll for a few days now, and the results were leaked, but it sure looks like Blitzer just confirmed them in his show opening.
@mehdirhasan 13)nOr course because it’s CNN and the poll is great news for Bernie and awful news for Biden they still have yet to cover it. Be typical if they didn’t even cover it until the second segment despite having advertised the release days ago
@mehdirhasan 14) 13 minutes in and they finally get the poll. They are already trying to claim that 61% of Bernie supporters saying Bernie would be at leasing the military to around 25% saying he wouldn’t, is somehow bad and of course they had to ask a stupid question about “physical health” 
@mehdirhasan 15) Literally no panel, and the segment was 4 minutes long. When the same pollster had bad news for Bernie two times ago they not only called for Bernie to drop out while citing the Working Families Party but they spent the whole show on it

@mehdirhasan 19) We had essentially nothing of worse on msnbc thru 8 pm, meanwhile Erin Burnett waited 40 minutes to talk about the new poll and even then it was mostly impeachment and how that would affect the senators running that was talked about
@mehdirhasan 20) They also claimed Bernie was basically the same as he had been previously in the poll and described Bernie as always being at around 15% which is just garbage, he’s a lot closer to 20% than 15%
@mehdirhasan 21) Burnett than ran a bizarre segment about Jill Biden, not Joe but Jill. Imagine them running a segment where they acted like Jane was the candidate instead of Bernie. Jill managed to complain about Bernie and take a shot at AOC in the piece.
@mehdirhasan 22) Joe is such a mess that CNN now needs to interview his wife because unlike him, she can still put sentences together. Finally we had a one minute joke segment about Bernir and Larry David and that was it
@mehdirhasan 23) Meanwhile CNN waited until 50 + minutes into Anderson Cooper‘s show to talk about the CNN poll where they once again pretended that Bernie’s numbers for leading the military were somehow bad
@mehdirhasan 24) The 9 pm hour was another hour of Cooper, and his time he only waited 30 minutes to cover the poll by having a panel with Van Jones and Howard Dean.

@mehdirhasan 26) Back Over on MSNBC there was nothing of note election wise on Chris Hayes show, tho I would note that while the first half of his show was the typical stuff you get on cable news, the second half of his show was actually very good.
@mehdirhasan 27) He had on Corey Bookerwho came off about as like-able as I’ve seen him and the way Booker was talking and acting, I wouldn’t be surprised if he drops out before Iowa because he seemed much less scripted and much more relaxed while basically calling out the DNC and at one
@mehdirhasan 28) point almost called Brett Kavanaugh an arrogant asshole. I got the sense that he knew the combination of him not making the debate and being in Washington for impeachment was the end of his campaign.
@mehdirhasan 29) What I really liked about the second half of the show was the segment Hayes did on Facebook where he confirmed/reported just how out of control/dishonest Facebook is
@mehdirhasan 30) Maddow actually had a very solid show that not only led off with the poll, but had a couple segments on it and none where she tried to downplay Bernie. Ali Velshi filled in for 11th Hour and had Michael Moore on yet managed not to talk about 2020 at all
@mehdirhasan 31) Over on CNN Don Lemon had a segment with Harry Enten at the end of his first hour that was surprisingly not terrible where Lemon was so anti Bernie that Enten was actually almost fact checking Lemons claims and then nothing the next hour
