@ericgarland Because they were critically useful, but also far *more* useful if almost no one knew about them until it was too late, you could exploit that complete lack of knowledge - &, in some quarters, the impulse to recklessly exploit every "advantage" - to lethally taint vast networks.
@ericgarland Understanding the ignorance - including on the part of otherwise intelligent people, as well as deeply stupid ones - and the arrogance involved was almost as important as knowing about the flaws, and saying nothing.
