later this month it will be my mom's birthday and the 5th one without her down here with us. i wish i could say it gets better and easier but it really doesn't. though i guess, glass half full, that means it was really really great when she was here. 
one of the things i miss the most is her making fun of me. nobody could drag me as well as my mom. just merciless, in the best way possible.
every football season, she would say, "why don't you get a new team? your team is not doing anything, and they haven't done anything for years. why don't you become a cowboys fan, or some winning team?"
