/n So the WHO has confirmed the death of "critical thinking" and the outbreak of "political correctness".
/n It's by questioning things that we acquire knowledge. This includes questioning the WHO. The fact that only today did they officially declare it a "pandemic", despite it obviously having been one for weeks, demonstrates we should question them.
/n Many people have been making statements like this, comparing it to the seasonal flu. But rather than call them idiots and "how dare you question experts" we should instead answer it, why the flu is different.
/n I have an answer for it. My answer is the medical system has a capacity for treating severely affected patients budgeted only for severe flu seasons, which is why the flu death rate is low. A coronavirus pandemic would exceed that causing death rates to skyrocket.
/n That's what's happening in Italy. They ran out of ventilators, so now have to decide who gets a ventilator and who dies (according to news stories).

Many may disagree with my answer. That's fine. Let's question and discuss it. Let's not say "shutup and simply have faith".
/n But people do deserve blame when they spread the disease. The WHO worrying about people's feelings rather than facts is, well, absurd. What sick people do to prevent spread is at least as important what well people do to not contract the disease.
